Iceland Diaries #41 - Kitties

There's an enormous friendly cat population in Iceland. They roam the city of Reykjavik like loan wolves in the night. They're sunbathing, bird watching or looking for friends. One of the reason why there are so many outdoor cats in Reykjavik is due to the city's large pet legislation. Rules on dog ownership in the city where so heavy, most people couldn't feasibly own a dog in the city. Therefore, domestic cats roam the city like they own the streets.

Iceland Diaries #40 - Listasafn Reykjavíkur

Ulfur took my class to Listasafn Reykjavíkur. This was are last trip. My favorite exhibit was the labyrinth on the forth floor. I would recommend it to anyone.

Iceland Diaries # 39 - Exhibition, SIM Gallery Show

Today, I presented my work for the July Gallery Show at the SIM house on Hafnastræti. I included a number of photographic prints, paintings, a landscape lantern of Reykjavik, as well as a animated film about learning the Icelandic language. The show was very successful. I met quiet few artists. I was even complemented by a Scandinavian linguistics scholar on my Icelandic dialogue.

Iceland Diries #36 - Preparation of Art Show

I will be taking part in an art show this Tuesday. three days away. Included in the show will be a collection of acrylic paintings, photographs, and magic. These are a few of the acrylic pieces I've framed and priced.

I'm included a collection of photographs, as well. 

Editing mode. 

Before tuesday, it is important that I organize the rest of my artwork into presentable status. I must add more photographs to fill out each series. In a perfect world there would be five to ten images for each set. With three sets so far, that equals 15 to 30 photographs. I´ll take Sunday to finish all my photography.

I need to buy frames for the rest of my acrylic paintings, perhaps purchasing a few more for my prints.

Animation needs to be finished by Monday. Projected and documented for show. This can be skipped, but I would really like this finished.

I´m also doing a small limited animation presentation of my class. I´ll finish it Sunday and present it as part of the show Tuesday.

Iceland Diaries # 35 - SUÐURLAND

Saturday, I traveled the southern belly of Iceland following the locations of Njál´s Saga.  Starting from Reykjavik, passing through Hversagerði, Selfoss, Hella, Hvolsvollur, Vík, Skógafoss, Seljalandsfoss, and finally ending in Öddi.
